2. When riding in or near traffic, signal before acting:

~  left arm extended to turn left

~  right arm extended to turn right

3. Stop at all intersections and look left, right and left again to check for oncoming traffic, proceed when clear.

4. Stop at all Stop signs and follow above rules.

5. Stop at all traffic lights and proceed with caution when light turns green.

6. Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks, on sidewalks, and at intersections.

7. Wear bright and/or reflective clothing and use a light at night.

8. If riding on the sidewalk be extra careful near driveways and alleys. Treat them like intersections and stop, look and listen for motor vehicle traffic.

9. When riding in the road always ride with the flow of traffic not against it. When riding in bicycle lanes always ride with the flow of traffic not against it.
