Walk and Bike to School
International WALK + BIKE TO SCHOOL DAY is celebrated annually in October at a dozen or more Rogue Valley elementary schools, with many students walking to school for the first time. Students, families, and community partners gather to walk and bike to school campuses from outlying staging areas. This is just one event of thousands in schools all over the city, state, and globe as Rogue Valley's Safe Routes to School program begins another school year of encouraging and supporting students to walk + bike to school safely.
The Safe Routes to School program works with school administration and teachers to develop fun and healthy ways to get to school safely, by working with the school community to bring Education, Encouragement, Engineering, and Enforcement activities that meet the school's needs.
