Beginning July 2nd two routes will be operating across from Front Street Station.
Route 25 to Southwest Medford and Route 30 to Jacksonville will face north toward 8th street parked behind the Oh's Osaka restaurant and RCC 'C' Building. Passengers will board and de-board on the sidewalk along the back of the buildings. Temporary bus stops will be installed along the sidewalk and RVTD's security officers will begin patrolling this area frequently.
RVTD has been working with the City of Medford since last summer to secure the parking spaces on the east side of Front St. The district has reached its limit on where buses can operate at the station with the service increase in April 2018. The new bus bays across the street will provide relief for existing operations and allow RVTD to plan for a future expansion.
RVTD also plans to replace the curb ramp at the station and the City of Medford will be doing a pavement overlay in the summer of 2018. After these improvements a permanent crosswalk will be striped across Front St. to improve pedestrian safety. Passengers are encouraged to be cautious when crossing the street.
