RVTD houses the Transportation Options program for Southwest Oregon.

RVTD's Way To Go program helps people connect to their transportation options.

  • Education: programs in local schools include "Gus Rides the Bus" Interactive Bus program, bicycle safety education classes, and Walk and Bike to School Day.
  • Public Outreach: look for the RVTD booth at local events throughout the year to learn about your transportation options or participate in one of our own custom campaigns like the Oregon Drive Less Challenge, Rogue Commute Challenge, or Go By Bike Week.
  • Employer Outreach: Our Employer Commute Services programs help employees get to and from work easier, whether through carpool and rideshare programs, discounted employee bus passes, our Emergency Ride Home program, or other custom commute solutions to help you.
  • Government Outreach: the Transportation Options program works with local government to promote policies and infrastructure that reduce reliance on automobile transportation and improve mobility and livability of Southern Oregon residents.

Living here in the Rogue Valley, you have many options on how to get to work, school, shopping, or fun and we are here to help you connect to them.

Walking can be great for your waistline, your budget and your mental health. You don't need a lot of special equipment, just a comfortable pair of shoes and you're ready to go!

Bike: Burn calories instead of gas by biking! Biking is good for your waistline and your wallet. You don't need a lot of special equipment - even with just a lock, helmet and light you're ready to go. Learn about the Rogue Bikeshare

Transit: With a transit system that connects 7 different communities here in the Rogue Valley, there is a good chance you can get where you need to go using the bus. Interested in learning more about our service and how to plan your next trip?

Rideshare: Sharing the ride for work and play is a great way to save time and money on the road. Tap into local services and online tools to take advantage of carpooling and vanpooling.

Why you should explore your Transportation Options:
  • Save Money
  • Reduce Your Carbon Footprint
  • Get Healthy
  • Avoid Traffic
  • Reduce Stress
  • Have Fun
Transportation Options promotes alternatives to driving alone such as bicycling, walking, public transit, ridesharing (carpooling and vanpooling), teleworking and compressed work-weeks. The goal is to improve the mobility of people in Southern Oregon and encourage travelers to choose alternative travel modes for the purpose of reducing auto trips, congestion, and pollution they cause, and to enhance livability, physical health, and activity levels.
